What we’re looking for:
Successful candidates will have at least 2 years of experience preparing plats and survey documents using AutoCAD or a similar program.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Work with Carson survey data collectors
Prepare office surveys and reduce field notes
Perform basic mathematic and trigonometric calculations
Create plats, drawings, as-built, tree and topographic surveys, and exhibits using AutoCAD
Analyze data for accuracy and reasonableness
Communicate clearly with field crews, engineers, and project managers
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or G.E.D. required
Formal training in a surveying related field is a plus
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in surveying technology
Proficiency with AutoCAD is a must
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Ability to work accurately and efficiently
High moral and ethical character

Survey Crew Chief
Coleman Company, Inc., a rapidly growing engineering, surveying, planning, and landscape architecture firm in Savannah, is searching for a Survey Crew Chief to join their team. Coleman Company specializes in providing professional consulting services for land development projects, focusing on site and municipal engineering design, as well as surveying for industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential purposes.
Role Overview:
The selected candidate will be tasked with gathering field survey data for various survey types, including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, wetland and tree locations, construction layout, and related fieldwork.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in survey crew work or equivalent.
Proficiency in operating total station instruments, GPS rovers, and levels.
Competence in basic field calculations.
Leadership skills to supervise a survey crew.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required; formal survey-related training is advantageous.
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
Good moral character, passing a drug test, clean driving record, and the ability to obtain a TWIC® card.
Physical Demands:
Comfortable working in environments with potential hazards like venomous snakes and insects.
Capable of prolonged standing, working in various temperatures, climbing hills, walking long distances, traversing different terrains, and lifting up to 75lbs.
