Job Summary:


Coleman Company, Inc., one of the fastest growing engineering companies in Savannah, is seeking Project Managers for its Savannah, GA office. Coleman Company provides professional consulting services for land development projects specializing in site and municipal engineering design and surveying for light industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential uses. Successful candidates will have experience in leading the preparation of plans and specifications, design considerations and reports and permit applications for various types of Civil Engineering projects. This position requires an individual with strong communication skills and the ability to plan and coordinate complex tasks between team members, clients, sub-consultants and and permitting agencies. A working knowledge of project applications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is required.


Typical Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Manages one or more projects for multiple clients.
  • May lead or supervise one or more engineers and technicians.
  • Assists with the preparation of proposals and fee estimates.
  • Represents clients and the firm at project meetings and in public forums.
  • Project coordination with the Principles and Project Engineers, Designers and other disciplines or sub-Consultants as necessary to produce the project.
  • Responsible for the Design of Paving, Grading, Drainage and Utility plans for land development and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinates preparation of applications for all necessary regulatory permits.
  • Prepare and/or reviews calculations and reports relating to project submittals.
  • Manages the production of project plans and specifications.
  • Is responsible for quality assurance and quality control for project documents.
  • Responsible for maintaining project schedules to achieve project milestones and deliverable work product.
  • Oversees project bidding and construction administration phases.
  • Manages the resolution of construction issues and conduct site observations.
  • Ability to independently solve problems




  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field, Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification is required, Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in residential, commercial & industrial site work or infrastructure project design and project management.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad and Civil 3D
  • Experience in Storm Water Modeling & preparing Hydrology & Hydraulic Reports
  • Experience in the design of Wastewater Collection Systems that would include Gravity Systems, Lift Stations, Force Mains and Low Pressure Systems. Including all supporting calculations
  • Experience in the design of Water Distribution Systems and supporting calculations.
  • Experience in the development of project scopes, budgets and schedules.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to communicate with project managers, clients and review agencies.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated. Ability to multi-task and mange time and workload.
  • Must posses high individual moral and ethical character.
